The jam will involve fans as well as some of the artists.

If you think your playing or singing skills are good enough to perform Uriah Heep music on stage, you can fill in the entry form here and send it to us but please note that you must have a three-day event pass purchased before you can apply.

Tell us about your skills and experience in playing as clearly as possible. Fill in also the song request field if you have favourite Heep songs or songs you know you can play.

Also remember to add a good quality audio or video sample of your own performance by placing the URL of the file into “Your sample” field (for example like this: “http://www.easy-livin-in-salo.com/sample.mp3”) if you or your band has a website where files can be downloaded or you have Myspace or Youtube-videos. You can also send your sample by e-mail to jamsessions@easy-livin-in-salo.com but please take notice that the attachment is not too large in size so that it can be received via e-mail.

The organising team will choose based on the samples from all applicants those who can take part in jam sessions and they will be notified of that well in time before the event.

There is no extra charge in taking part of the jams, it is completely free to those who have purchased a three-day event pass.

KEN HENSLEY SONGWRITING CLASS

Read more information on the Ken Hensley Songwriting Class here

Easy Livin’ In Salo is offering a unique opportunity for fans to have an insight to Ken Hensley’s songwriting and working methods and have advice on their own music career in this interactive workshop on Friday 21st of August.

Under the title “There is a song in every one of us”, legendary songwriter, producer and touring/recording artist Ken Hensley will use his extraordinary songwriting gift to encourage writers and non-writers to explore, discover, develop and enjoy the ability to create musical poetry that can not only change their own lives but make a positive difference in the lives of others and the world in which we all live.

Uniquely qualified, Ken has been writing poetry since he was a young boy and began turning his poems into songs at the age of 18. Since then, with more than 40 million records sold, over 300 songs published in a career spanning more than 45 years, he has the background and experience to inform, educate and inspire just about anyone into the field of music that continues to enrich so many lives all over the world.

Importantly, Ken has never had any kind of musical training and never learned to read or write music in the formal way so his class is open to anyone with just a little curiosity. A touch of ambition helps too! And you don’t even need to play an instrument! Remember, a lot of people have made a lot of money from simply being great lyricists!

Talking points:

This is a rare chance since there have been only a few of these workshops arranged so far. The latest was held at CeBit Fair in Hannover in the beginning of March as shorter version. You can see pictures, videos at these links:

Estimated duration of the songwriting class is 5 - 6 hours. Please note that tickets are NOT included in the three-day event pass, they are sold separately and cost 25 EUR each. All proceeds go to Ken Hensley’s Esperanza Street charity organisation.

Order your songwriting class tickets here.
